When Michael was courting Claudia, ten years ago, and told her about how he loved diving, Claudia thought, “He’s the one!” And so, the diving and love story began. For years, as corporate IT employees, life was full of long days at the office, work-related travels, and taking care of their teenage kids. But more and more vacations were spent at iconic diving destinations: the Maldives, Egypt, the Caribbean, Tenerife... One day, they decided to do something different: Let’s open a Dive Center. “You both have good-paying jobs, why quit that?” claimed some friends. “Are you sure you want to leave the big city?” said others. “But aren’t you too old to do that?” said some who are no longer their friends ;-). They obtained the necessary certifications, Michael went to work in Mexico, where he got valuable experience as an instructor and learned about customers’ expectations and desires. Claudia read all the marine life books she could put her hands on. They wrote the plan, found the right place, and finally, here they are. Very happy to welcome divers, and divers-to-be to Nextdives. For us, the dive experience is based on safety, learning, and enjoyment. We provide an introduction to the marine life you will encounter at each dive site, with relevant information and fun facts, so you will hopefully carry a pleasant and insightful memory of each dive with us. So, buckle up, or should we say, do the buddy check, and enjoy the ride!
